A court has ordered the State Security Department to carry out a further investigation into the death of Vytautas Pociūnas

The Vilnius Regional Administrative Court quashed the conclusion of the SSD official investigation into the death of former Colonel Vytautas Pociūnas as illegal, unfounded and unreasonable. At the same time, the court instructed the department to establish a causal connection between the death of the official in Belarus and his service within two months from the effective date of the decision. This was demanded by Vytautas Pociūnas's widow Liudvika Pociuniene. Her claim for compensation was rejected as unfounded.
